The first ever Safeguarding Children Week in Hampshire and Isle of Wight took place on 9 to 13 October 2023.
All organisations that work with children and young people, whether in a voluntary or paid capacity, have a responsibility to protect children from harm. Safeguarding Children Week was developed by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children Partnerships as an annual opportunity to bring agencies and organisations together to raise awareness among partners, professionals and community, voluntary and faith leaders about the importance of safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
Each day of Safeguarding Children Week featured a different safeguarding theme, comprising the launch of several new toolkits, film messages from senior managers, key learning, signposting and training opportunities that organisations and individuals can utilise as part of their safeguarding role.
