Workforce Development

Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) and its associated partners provide presentations and training opportunities on its toolkits to equip professionals with the knowledge, information and skills to apply the resources effectively. Where appropriate, details of external training that practitioners might find helpful are also provided.

To support professional understanding and implementation of our toolkits, the HSCP provides free multi-agency training for professionals and volunteers working with children and families in the Hampshire local authority area. HSCP & IOWSCP multi-agency training 

To support professional understanding and implementation of the Neglect Toolkit, the HSCP and IOWSCP provide free multi-agency training on neglect for professionals and volunteers working with children and families in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

External training 

Child and Family Training

Funded by the Department for Education, Child and Family Training (C&FT) is a not-for-profit organisation that develops a range of materials to support improved evidence based practice and the use of assessment tools when working with neglect. The package of learning resources on neglect includes free courses, training materials and useful hand-outs.


Department for Education

In 2012, the Department for Education published the Childhood Neglect framework and series of hand-outs for training multi-agency groups on identifying and preventing child neglect.
