Safeguarding Adolescents
Welcome to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Safeguarding Children Partnership’s (LSCPs) Safeguarding Adolescents Toolkit.
Adolescence is a transitional phase of physical and psychological development between childhood and adulthood. The Safeguarding Adolescents Toolkit has been developed to support professionals in improving outcomes for children transitioning through this sometimes, vulnerable period.
The aim of the Strategy is to equip the children’s workforce across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight with the skills to identify and provide an early effective response and intervention to safeguard children at risk of harm.
The information in this Toolkit reflects the Safeguarding Adolescent Strategy which has been developed to support all professionals who work with adolescents and their families. The material is free to access and available to all practitioners from any agency/organisation across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Also see the parents and carers Supporting Your Adolescent Toolkit, which supplements this professional toolkit. Practitioners are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the parents and carers toolkit and share the resource with families of adolescent children they work with.
