Parental Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health – Upcoming Training in the HSCP Virtual Offer

Good emotional wellbeing and mental health is an essential component of achieving good overall health and a good quality of life. The importance of parental mental health and the impact on children within a family is being increasingly recognised. As such, the mental health of children and their parents/carers is a strong theme within the safeguarding training included in the HSCP virtual offer. These fully funded multi-agency events are available for all professionals working with children and families who live in the Hampshire Local Authority area.

An Introduction to Perinatal Mental Health and the Impact on the Child  18 October 2023 12.00 – 13.00 This training is designed to help Hampshire professionals build knowledge and understanding of the importance of perinatal health and develop an increased awareness of some common perinatal mental health issues and the support available to parents and babies.

An Introduction to The Trauma Informed Journey 18 October 2023 13.30 – 15.00 Children who have experienced traumatic events need support from professionals and volunteers who understand the impact these traumas can have on their health and wellbeing. This course allows professionals to examine different adverse childhood experiences, to respond with different strategies and build their ‘trauma informed practice’ to support children and young people.

Supporting Children of Substance Misusing Parents 18 October 2023 19.00 – 20.30 Delivered by Inclusion22, this session will give an insight into the impact of parental substance misuse on children and young people. The webinar allows professionals to explore these impacts and how to respond and support children of different ages who are affected by parental substance misuse.
