Safeguarding from radicalisation – new Prevent Toolkit
Prevent is about safeguarding individuals who are vulnerable to radicalisation by stopping them being drawn into terrorism or extremism. We all have a responsibility to keep Hampshire safe. Extremism and radicalisation in our communities are very real threats, and understanding what these are, can help us reduce the threat from terrorism, radicalisation and extremism by being vigilant, knowing what to report, and how to report it.
Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership and the Hampshire Safeguarding Adult Board have developed a new Prevent Toolkit to support professionals working with adults and children in Hampshire who may be at risk of, or are, being groomed for radicalisation.
The toolkit was developed in response to a request made by multi-agency professionals for more information on potential signs and vulnerabilities of radicalisation and wanting to better understand the processes and procedures in place to support people at risk. Information in the toolkit includes policies and procedures, as well as resources that can be used within staff teams. Links and signposting to other organisations who provide support are also incorporated.
