Keeping the Child at the Centre of Partnership Working
For education settings only
9 May 2022 — This year’s Hampshire and Isle of Wight Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) Conference will be held on 23 June 2022, from 9.15am to 3.30pm. With the theme of partnership working, delegates will follow the journey of two children’s lives to identify the different safeguarding concerns and ensure that our professional response is informed by understanding the child’s lived experience.
The conference will include learning from case reviews focusing on points of intervention in the children’s lives at different ages, which professionals from Hampshire and Isle of Wight partner agencies will link to operational contexts. By sharing the children’s story and agency interventions, professionals working within schools will be supported in reflecting upon the impact of partnership working on improving the outcomes for children.
Speakers from partnership agencies, including health, police, children’s services and education, will provide insights into how Safeguarding Leads can be empowered to work with other agencies to support an effective response.
Providing a delegate attends the whole day, this conference will satisfy the statutory refresher training for DSLs, as identified in KCSiE 2021.
Following the success of last year’s DSL conference, this year’s event will be held virtually on MS Teams Live.
