The Hampshire Suicide Prevention and Postvention Protocol for Schools and Colleges Postvention Protocol for Education Settings has been updated.

This document provides practice help and support for schools and colleges to consider following the death by suspected suicide of a student or a member of staff.  The document is there to help education settings navigate through such a challenging time, providing vital information about the steps to take and signposting to support available for the whole school/college community.

Since the resource was last updated in 2021, there have been several updates including the following:

1. Template Education Settings Self Harm and Suicide Prevention Policy (as part of Safeguarding Policy) Education Setting Suicide Prevention Policy Template
2. Updated links to the latest version of the Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth & Southampton Self Harm Pathway 2022 HIPS self harm pathway 2022
3. Updated signposting support including to Southampton, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth – Amparo
4. New presentation style format
