Free Safeguarding Briefings and Workshops

The HSCP Partnership Support Team run various themed briefings and workshops for the multi-agency workforce. The content is regularly updated to include new HSCP initiatives, emerging safeguarding issues and suggestions from delegates attending previous events.

HSCP have produced a Training Brochure which outlines the HSCP training offer for professionals in 2019/20.

HSCP – The Learning Lessons Workshops from Serious Case Reviews have now been combined with the Regional Practitioner Forums and re-branded as the ‘HSCP Safeguarding Children Briefings: Learning & Themes’

These part-day face-to-face workshops pull together key risk factors and practice recommendations to help practitioners understand and act upon the learning from serious case reviews. Workshops highlighting the learning from serious case reviews that are conducted when a child dies, or is seriously injured, and abuse or neglect are suspected. The event will provide an opportunity for staff to also be briefed on initiatives and resources from the Partnership and to discuss safeguarding issues in their area.

Hampshire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Workshop

This workshop, led by managers and staff from the Hampshire MASH, is open to all levels of staff working across all agencies / organisations who work with children and their families in Hampshire. The workshop will provide attendees with an overview of:

  • The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) – its purpose and how it operates;
  • How professionals from any agency or organisation can refer information into the MASH, and, when it is appropriate to do so;
  • Thresholds and guidance on submitting a good quality contact/referral;
  • What happens to your information when it is received by the MASH;
  • How, and when, the MASH provide referrer feedback to those who have provided information;
  • Attendee opportunity for Q&A.

The workshop is interactive and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to MASH staff.

There are currently no MASH Workshops scheduled. Please check back for future dates.

Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) offer free training to their partner agencies. In the case of non-attendance or cancellation within 48 hours of these workshops and briefings, a fee of £30 will be incurred. This fee will be waived if a substitute delegate is sent instead but you must cancel your place via the Eventbrite system and ask your colleague to reapply for a place via Eventbrite. In the event this is not possible, any cancellations must be sent in writing to hscb@hants.gov.uk.
