Keeping Children Safe From Child Exploitation – Upcoming Training Opportunities in the HSCP Virtual Offer

Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) is committed to building on its approach to identifying and responding to all forms of exploitation such as child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation and county lines. These issues are a key priority for HSCP. As such, child exploitation is a strong theme within the safeguarding training included in the HSCP virtual offer. These fully funded multi-agency events are available for all professionals working with children and families who live in the Hampshire Local Authority area.

Please see information below regarding upcoming training linked to the theme of child exploitation and how to book your place. Places are available on a first come, first served basis, so be quick to secure your free place.

An Introduction to Trafficking and the National Referral Mechanism (6 December 2023 12.00 – 13.00) A practical session to support professionals with understanding the CERAF and observing best practice guidance when it is being completed.

An Introduction to the Child Exploitation Risk Assessment Framework (13 December 2023 09.30 – 11.00) – A practical session to support professionals with understanding the CERAF and observing best practice guidance when it is being completed.

Missing, Exploited and Trafficked Children (13 December 2023 13.30 – 15.00)With a strong emphasis on multi-agency working and information sharing, this course is designed to create greater awareness of child exploitation. The course is delivered by the Willow Team across the Pan Hampshire Area. Whilst it builds upon national issues, this course focuses on what is happening in Hampshire. The course explores issues that children in our county face and enables delegates to detect and respond to the risks.

The HIPS Child Exploitation Toolkit has been developed to support professionals working with children who may/are at risk of child exploitation. The toolkit provides professionals with an understanding of the Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton (HIPS) Child Exploitation & Extra-Familial Harm Strategy, practical tools and resources, information about workforce development and signposting to support.
