Celebrating a year of the HSCP Virtual Learning Platform!

Today marks the 1-year anniversary of the Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership’s Virtual Learning Platform.

The Virtual Learning Platform was established last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure professionals could continue accessing safeguarding training following the suspension of face-to-face learning. The Platform offers a diverse range of free multi-agency virtual courses, Webinar Wednesdays, Lunchtime Learning and e-learning materials; available to all Hampshire professions working with children and families who live in the local authority area.

Since its inception, the programme has proved to be a tremendous success with over 6,000 professionals attending 85 Webinar Wednesdays alone. Delegate feedback has been extremely positive on the accessibility and variety of courses offered.

Some of the courses that are available to book this coming year include:

  • An Introduction to Keeping Children Safe Online
  • An Introduction to Safeguarding Children with Disabilities (including Learning Disabilities)
  • Working with families with No Recourse to Public Funding
  • Domestic Abuse themed webinars
  • Harmful Cultural Practises

Due to its overwhelming success, the Virtual Training Platform will continue beyond the pandemic, and face-to-face training will be incorporated back into the programme, when it is considered safe to do so.
