HSCP launches first ever virtual MET webinars

The Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) are pleased to announce the launch of its first ever virtual Missing, Exploited and Trafficked Children (MET) webinars for frontline practitioners on Wednesday, 17 June 2020. The course is delivered by Hampshire County Council’s specialist child exploitation team and the Police Missing, Exploited and Trafficked Children (MET) team.

With a strong emphasis on multi-agency working and information sharing, the course is designed to create greater awareness of child exploitation, with a focus on what is happening locally in Hampshire. The course will explore issues that children in our county face and enable practitioners to detect and respond to the risks.

Learning Outcomes

  • Improve the awareness of child exploitation among frontline professionals and managers.
  • Enable frontline professionals to recognise the signs and symptoms of child exploitation and to refer their concerns in line with agreed local processes.
  • Explain categories of risk including use of local assessment tools.
  • Explore pathways of support available to keep children safe in Hampshire.
  • Using scenario-based discussions, help staff acquire greater knowledge of how agencies can work together to protect children at risk of exploitation.

The course is delivered over three separate modules and contributes towards Level Three Safeguarding Training.

Modules are booked individually, but you must have had prior training on MET to attend modules 2 and 3. For further information and to book your place please visit our Event Booking page. Places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
