Safer Internet Day 2019

Tuesday 5 February 2019 is #SaferInternetDay!

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Commission has launched a new cyber safety campaign encouraging young people to Go FISH (Find. Internet. Safety. Help.)

As part of Safer Internet Day, Caroline Dinenage MP is hosting a Cyber Safety event aimed at supporting mums, dads and guardians to be confident with digital parenting.

The event will take place on Thursday 7 February between 6:30pm and 7:30pm at Brune Park School.

Hampshire Constabulary and ParentZone will be giving presentations looking at the risks to children and what makes some online spaces riskier than others, online extremism and radicalisations and confident digital parenting.

Hampshire County Council have an Online Safety Guide which explains the different types of online media accessed by children and how they can be used safely.

Hampshire Constabulary have launched a film highlighting the risks of sending nude images online. Megan tells her story about being tricked into sending a nude image at age 14.
